Why Fragrance-Free? The Quiet Case for a Simpler Moisturizer
Share
The nicest-smelling product on your shelf might be the one quietly irritating your skin. Fragrance is in the vast majority of moisturizers, and for a lot of people it adds nothing but risk. Here's the case for leaving it out.
Why fragrance is in almost everything
Raw skincare ingredients don't always smell appealing, so fragrance is added to mask that and to make a product feel more pleasant and “premium” to use. That's it. Fragrance makes a product nicer to apply — it does nothing for your skin's health. It's there for the experience, not the results.
The most common irritant in skincare
Fragrance — including “natural” fragrance and many essential oils — is one of the leading causes of skin irritation and contact reactions. What makes it tricky is that sensitivity can build up quietly over time: a scented product you've used for months can start causing redness or reactivity as your skin becomes sensitized to it. For anyone with sensitive or reactive skin, it's often the first thing a dermatologist suggests cutting.
What you gain by leaving it out
A fragrance-free formula removes the most common variable, so one product can work for sensitive skin, for men, and for pretty much everyone. Our Daily Moisturizer is fragrance-free and allergen-label-free by design, and it still does the real work: hyaluronic acid and Sodium PCA hold moisture in, jojoba softens, and aloe calms. You lose the scent — and nothing else.
How to use it
Smooth it over skin as the final step of your routine, morning and night, after your serum. It absorbs quickly to a comfortable, non-greasy finish that layers cleanly under SPF or makeup. Simple, quiet, and kind to your skin — which is exactly the point.
